The Neusiedler lake is the largest of its kind in Europe. With its own national park, it is a paradise for birds and plants. In the summer, the lake echoes to the sounds of water sports. In the winter, the combination of steel-grey sky and thick ice gives rise to a unique atmosphere. In spring, the land is coloured by the almond and cherry blossom. In summer, the narrow rape and sunflower fields provide a golden backdrop for the many passing cyclists. Finally, in the fall, the ripening grape harvest and woodland shades (including the sweet chestnut) make their own special contribution to the changing colours of the land.
